Teaching Module (Iterations, Fractals and Chaos)

Lesson 4

Title: Chaos!

Objective: To explore phenomena arising from iterations of the logistic map (in particular, the “period doubling” phenomenon), and to clarify some common misconceptions about chaos.

Before the lesson,

• Prepare one copy of worksheet for each student.
• Arrange, preferably, one computer with internet connection for each student.
