If you want to type LaTeX articles in Windows, I recommend MiKTeX. You can download it freely from http://www.miktex.org/. After installing MiKTeX, you still need a TeX editor. I suggest you TeXnicCenter (freeware). You can find the link of this program from the MiKTeX website.
